LUXURY STAYCATION: ARTIST RESIDENCE.
Staycations are fast becoming my favourite holiday. Having two pups means going anywhere further afield can be quite costly. But that aside, I really don’t like leaving them. And so for our anniversary this year, Jamie and I decided to celebrate with a little getaway to the Cotswolds, dogs in tow.A few years ago we stayed at the beautiful Artist Residence boutique hotel in London and this year we decided to treat ourselves to a sleepover at the Oxfordshire one.We booked in for two nights in their Barn Suite – an eclectic, luxurious, bohemian retreat.I think the photos speak for themselves. It really was incredible.
THE COTSWOLDS.
Being just a short drive away from the centre of Oxford, we ventured out a few times to explore. We had a gorgeous dinner at Gee’s, visited Daylesford farm shop and stopped by Moreton-in-the-Marsh for some afternoon tea.The rest of the time was spent making the most of our beautiful room. I’m not one to be excessive (I definitely am); but I had a total of six baths in two days and I’m not even a bit sorry about it.

It was just so lovely to relax and do absolutely nothing for two days. We had plenty of lovely long walks with the girls – the hotel is just a stones throw from a public footpath where you can walk for miles. And the restaurant was so calming and comfortable with open log fires and cosy chairs.The doggos were completely spoilt by the hotel with two beautiful beds, dog food and treats. Outside our room was a little wooden shack, with raincoats, wellies and dog walking trails for you to help yourselves. Everything felt very special, with was lovely.When it comes to cost, Artist Residence is most definitely a treat. We opted for their ‘best room in the house’ (of which it certainly is) – as it was a special occasion for us. But there are other beautiful rooms at slightly lower costs available, too.It definitely felt a bit naughty, but it was absolutely worth it as we had such a wonderful time.If you’re looking for something truly special, look no further.Have a browse of the Artist Residence site here.
